Hi! We’re just two girls that love local coffee shops, so we thought we might as well start a blog! We plan on visiting cafés in and around the Tampa Bay area. We will be rating and reviewing the price, atmosphere, decor, customer service and of course, the coffee. One day we hope to expand to other local businesses. If you have any questions, or comments feel free to ask away! We hope you join us on our coffee journey!
Mountaineer Coffee
The first stop on our coffee journey was Mountaineer Coffee in the small town of Brooksville. We ordered our usual drinks: a decaf iced coffee with caramel and cream for A. and iced coffee with mocha and cream for M. We also treated ourselves to a couple of their signature “poptarts,” one blueberry and one cinnamon sugar.
We left this coffee shop with only good things to say. Mountaineer is one of the only cafes found in Downtown Brooksville and is in the perfect location right off of Main Street. The brick, rustic exterior exudes coffee shop vibes. The inside decor is simple, yet modern with art and plants hanging in every corner. The perfect atmosphere to do homework, catch up with a friend or enjoy some quiet time.
Now let’s get to what you came here for: the coffee. We both knew from the first sip that we’d be back for more. Mountaineer’s house made brew is strong and authentic. It is then perfectly balanced out by the sweet syrup. The coffee was reasonably priced, at around $4.20 for a 16 oz cup.
Their signature “poptarts” are signature for reason. The flaky crust and delicious filling pair perfectly with the coffee. These pastries were only $2.75 each. Overall we definitely enjoyed thoroughly and highly recommend a trip to Mountaineer!
